EyeCon VR/AR Lab kicks off its training programme with an online Unity VR workshop

February 24, 2026

The first training event of our Erasmus+ project EyeCon VR/AR Lab (Immersive Eye-tracking Consumer VR/AR Lab for Vocational Education and Start-ups) took place today as a full-day online workshop. Twenty-one participants from LMU Munich, Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University and Çanakkale Teknopark joined over Zoom and Discord, from 08:00 to 15:00 Berlin time.

Dr. Erwan David led the day, taking the group from Unity basics to their own interactive VR scenes. The seven-hour programme covered the Unity interface and project setup, C# scripting fundamentals, loading resources and logging data, VR interaction with the XR Toolkit, and coroutines for sequencing experimental trials. It closed with a capstone project, a VR “Cube Factory” that combines geometry, controller input, timed object generation and audio feedback.

The workshop opens an eighteen-month training programme in which the three partners build up a shared VR/AR and EEG laboratory for vocational education and start-up research. The next step is an on-site visit to Çanakkale in April to install the VR and EEG equipment and run pilot experiments, followed by a research-training week in Munich later in the year.
